Playbooks® Reader’s Theater Publishing

Playbooks® Reader’s Theater Publishing (Playbooks, Inc.) provides the best materials for implementing the “reader's theater” methodology in which children read stories aloud in small groups, like a play, but without memorization, props or a stage. Each student is assigned a character role and is encouraged to read his/her part with expression, meaning and enthusiasm. Playbooks Reader's Theater materials provide a powerful reading enrichment activity and gives children an outlet for creative expression and a safe, non-threatening platform for building reading confidence. Repeated readings in small groups (with readers of varying levels) is a proven method of building reading fluency, and Playbooks provides a fun and interactive reading program that creates measurable results.

The unique and patented Playbooks® format of multi-leveled and color-coded reader’s theater stories, games, mini costume kits, and staff development are the best in the industry and the most popular materials for afterschool and summer camp programs for Grades K-12.
