Afterschool Advocacy

Prime Time serves as an advocate for quality afterschool and facilitates practitioners' and program leaders' participation in local, state, and national initiatives that support quality afterschool programs for all children. As such, Prime Time hosts an annual Lights On Afterschool celebration to increase community awareness of and focus public attention on the importance of afterschool.

Prime Time's advocacy efforts are guided by its Advocacy Committee which is made up of a diverse group of representatives from afterschool programs, the School District and enhancement providers.

MISSION: The mission of the Advocacy Committee of Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. is to promote and develop an increased awareness of the need and value of afterschool programs for children and youth in Palm Beach County.

VISION: To set the standard in Palm Beach County for engaging public and private investors in creating strategic partnerships that will sustain afterschool programming to ensure children and youth become effective and contributing members of our community.

PURPOSE STATEMENT: Prime Time advocates for children and youth and the vital role afterschool programs play in their education and development. The Advocacy Committee of Prime Time reaches out to the community and its legislators to create awareness and support for this issue, to ensure the continued success and growth of quality afterschool programs in Palm Beach County.

Prime Time publishes the Palm Beach County Afterschool Advocate, an electronic publication designed to keep you informed of critical afterschool issues and advocay initiatives. Occassional time-sensitive action Alerts are released to advise subscribers about issues requiring immediate advocate action, particularly during legislative sessions.
