Scholarship applications must be submitted at least three
business weeks in advance of class, conference, and/or

Late applications will not be accepted.
1. ELIGIBILITY:
◦
Management and frontline professionals employed in an afterschool
program working with school-age children.
2. AWARDS:
°
40-hour school-age certification.
°
School-age related college and university course work.
°
Local training/education opportunities that promote quality
afterschool programming and management, such as grant
writing workshops, conflict resolution seminars and training
in staff management. Conferences, training, workshops, and
events must be directly related to the school-age
afterschool field.
3. PRIME TIME SCHOLARSHIPS COVER:
◦
Three scholarships per person per fiscal year for college
credit class registration and book costs, and four
scholarships per person per fiscal year for college
non-credit class registration and book costs.
Prime Time's fiscal year begins October 1st and ends
September 31 of the following year.
◦
Scholarship awards given to applicants taking college classes
will cover the full tuition amount for the approved class(es),
as well as the full cost of textbooks for the class(es).
◦
Scholarship awards for conference, training, workshop, or event
registration costs will pay the registration fee for the
approved event. The maximum award for in-state events is
$350.00 and the maximum award for out-of-state events is
$450.00.
◦ The
difference, if any, between a conference registration fee
and the maximum award amount will be available to the
scholarship recipient for reimbursement of approved travel
expenses including transportation, meals and lodging.
Maximum reimbursement amounts for meals are as follows:
breakfast - $10.00; lunch - $15.00; dinner - $20.00, not
including the
cost of alcoholic beverages or taxes incurred.
◦ Original
receipts, the conference reimbursement request form (which
can be downloaded from our website), and the certificate of
attendance with presenter’s sign-off must be submitted
within ten business days from the conference end date in
order to be considered for reimbursement.
◦ Prime Time scholarships do not cover general education
college requirement classes such as college algebra, college
composition, etc.
◦ Prime Time scholarships do not cover out-of-state tuition
(except for conferences).
4. APPLICATION PROCESS:
◦
Prime Time will not reimburse class, conference, or event
registration costs that the scholarship applicant has
prepaid. If your scholarship is approved, Prime Time will
process payments directly to the school or conference/event
sponsor.
◦
If you are applying for a class, you must register with the
college before submitting a scholarship application (you
will need to supply your college student identification
number on the scholarship application).
◦
Complete the attached Prime Time Professional Development
Scholarship application.
◦
Send completed scholarship application with your college
transcripts and/or conference registration form by mail or
fax to Nicole Tarsia (Please see contact information below).
◦
Upon approval of your application we will process payments for
conference/event registration fees, in-state tuition and/or
books. Palm Beach Community College bookstore will allow
you to get the books for your approved Prime Time
Scholarship for Palm Beach Community College courses ONLY.
◦
You will be notified by mail, email and/or phone at your center
of employment if your scholarship application has been
approved.
◦
If you decide to cancel or drop a class, conference, or event
after you have submitted your Prime Time Scholarship
application, you must notify Prime
Time in writing immediately. Failure to do so will exempt
you from future Prime Time scholarship opportunities.
◦
Within three
business weeks after the event end date, please submit proof
of completion – i.e. your class grades report or certificate
of attendance with presenter’s sign-off – along with
the scholarship follow-up form which is included with the
scholarship application. Failure to do so may exempt you
from future Prime Time scholarship opportunities.
NOTE:
All applications will be considered on a first come, first
serve basis for approved classes, conferences, and events
only.
However, priority funding will be given to applicants who
have not previously been awarded a Prime Time Professional
Development Scholarship.
