PRIME TIME PALM BEACH COUNTY RECEIVES TWO GRANTS TO SUPPORT QUALITY OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME

Date: 1/19/18

Boynton Beach, Florida – Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. is pleased to announce it has been awarded two contracts totaling $5.8 million from the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County. Prime Time will use these funds to provide quality improvement support, practitioner training and professional development, and expanded learning opportunities for youth in out-of-school time (OST) programs throughout Palm Beach County.  Its Research Department will evaluate its services and supports for organizational continuous improvement, and to inform the field.

With support from the Children’s Services Council, Prime Time will offer expanded learning opportunities in partnership with 15 local expert content providers, covering academics; health and wellness; integrated arts and creativity; and positive youth development. These activities allow children to engage in hands-on learning that they otherwise may not be able to access. In addition, Prime Time will continue to offer training to local OST professionals to ensure that they have the skills and resources necessary to provide rich youth development activities in the critical hours after school.

“Adults have an impact on children throughout their day,” said Suzette L. Harvey, President/CEO of Prime Time. “With the support of Children’s Services Council, we are working to make those experiences positive, impactful and engaging for our community’s children.

In addition to the significant funding Prime Time receives from the Children’s Services Council, it also receives support from the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department for Prime Time’s Middle School Out-of-school Time Initiative.
