Anita Winkis
After nearly 12 years of serving as an afterschool program site director with the School District of Palm Beach County. Anita joined Prime Time and drew on her extensive experience in youth development and program leadership. She partners with targeted afterschool programs and Prime Time providers throughout Palm Beach County to assess needs, design strategic supports, implement high-quality services and drive continuous program improvement. Anita earned a bachelor's degree in art from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. She furthered her education through coursework in Early Childhood Education and Youth Development at Palm Beach State College, as well as Elementary Education at Palm Beach Atlantic University, reflecting her longstanding commitment to supporting the growth and success of young people. Dedicated to continuous professional learning and leadership development, Anita is a graduate of Nonprofits First's Rising Leaders program and a Certified Coach through the Center for Coaching Certification. She has also completed Bright Morning's Transformational Coaching and Coaching for Equity programs, strengthening her ability to foster equitable, growth-centered leadership practices.
As a White-Riley-Peterson Fellow, Anita advocates for high-quality afterschool programming at the local, state and national levels. She earned this distinction after successfully completing the White-Riley-Peterson Policy Fellowship through the Riley Institute at Furman University, where she developed expertise in advancing policies that expand access to quality afterschool and expanded learning opportunities. Anita is passionate about empowering educators and strengthening programs that enable children and youth to thrive.
